No Grand Theft Auto VI easter egg is known, because the game is not out. Rockstar Games has announced none, and it would be very surprising if it did: an easter egg you announce stops being one.

This page used to list some thirty "secrets spotted in the trailers", sorted by video, with headings like "Tommy Vercetti?" and "underwater wreck". None of it came from the studio. They were commented freeze frames. Those sections are gone, and the detail is below.

Last checked: 12 September 2026.

Why there are no easter eggs to document yet

An easter egg is something hidden in a game, found by playing it. The Mount Gordo ghost in GTA 5 was not announced by Rockstar Games: players climbed up there, at night, and saw it.

That is the definition: you need the game to find them. Before 19 November 2026, nobody outside the studio has the game. So there is nothing to document, and any page claiming otherwise is documenting something else.

What an easter egg page actually documents before release

Images. The December 2023 and January 2025 trailers run a few minutes each; Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, released on 27 August 2026, shows twenty-six minutes of real gameplay captured on PlayStation 5.

Those videos are watched frame by frame by tens of thousands of people. They pick out signs, graffiti, silhouettes, licence plates. That work is real and often meticulous.

What it produces, however, is hypotheses, not facts. For three reasons.

A detail seen is not a detail confirmed. A blurred sign in a two-second shot can be read several ways, and the most interesting reading is the one that travels.

A trailer is a promotional edit. What appears in it was chosen for effect. An element can appear there without existing in the finished game, or exist there differently.

A resemblance is not a reference. Art Deco architecture at Ocean Beach resembles Vice City's in 2002 because both draw on Miami Beach, not necessarily because one is quoting the other.

What this page used to claim, wrongly

It announced a building bearing the name "Vercetti" glimpsed in the second trailer, presented as a tribute to the Vice City protagonist. Rockstar Games has never mentioned that name in connection with Grand Theft Auto VI.

It asserted the return of named radio stations, Flash FM and Emotion 98.3, on the basis of "visual clues". The studio has published no station list and no name.

It described an observatory on Mount Kalaga, an underwater wreck in the Leonida Keys, an isolated island with no road, lights in the swamps pointing to the Skunk Ape. None of those places has been published by Rockstar Games, and three of the areas named have no official description at all.

It listed green graffiti as a Grove Street Families reference, rumours of a Trevor Phillips cameo, and Niko Bellic as "not confirmed but expected by fans", which is a way of writing a name while having nothing to say.

It also promised "hundreds of easter eggs" in the finished game, and carried a whole section of headings with no content, to be filled in after launch.

How an easter egg is actually found

The process is always the same, and it explains why it cannot start before release.

Someone notices an anomaly while playing: a building that serves no purpose, a sound with no visible source, an object placed where nothing should be. They mention it. Others go and look.

Then comes the long part: establishing the conditions. Many secrets appear only at a given time of day, in given weather, with a given character, or after finishing a specific mission. Until those conditions are isolated, half the players who try see nothing, and conclude it is fake.

The secret becomes documentable the moment anyone can reproduce it by following instructions. That takes days, sometimes months, and it is exactly the work a page published before release cannot have done.

What Rockstar Games has actually published

Two trailers, one gameplay video, official images, and the character profiles on its own site. None of it mentions an easter egg, a secret, a reference to an earlier game, or any continuity with Vice City (2002).

What the studio has published about the game's world and its people is covered on our map page and our Leonida page, with no image reading.

What will appear here after 19 November 2026

This page becomes useful on release day, and it will follow one rule: an easter egg goes in only once it is reproducible.

In practice that means being able to say where it is, under what conditions it appears, and how to check it yourself. A screenshot is not enough, and neither is a video if nobody else can repeat it.

That is not excessive caution: the period after a GTA release always produces its share of invented secrets, doctored captures and update rumours. A page that carries all of them becomes unusable within a week.

What Rockstar Games has not published on this point

No easter egg, no count of secrets, no reference to an earlier game, no named radio station, no hidden location, no correspondence with Vice City (2002).
