Rockstar Games has published no weapon list for Grand Theft Auto VI. No arsenal, no count, no model name. The pages titled "all confirmed weapons" you will find elsewhere, this one included before its rewrite, are visual identifications made from trailer footage.

This page states what is actually established about weaponry, why recognising a gun in a shot is not a confirmation, and what remains to be checked. Nothing here comes from the 2022 leaks or from datamining.

What is actually known about weapons in GTA 6

Three things, and none of them is a list.

Your weapon is part of your description. This is the most concrete element, and it comes from the gameplay presentation held at Rockstar Games' offices in late August 2026, relayed by the French press in attendance: the police identify the player by clothing, accessories, the number of people in the group, the vehicle and the weapon used. A weapon is therefore no longer just a damage tool, it is a piece of data that follows you after the crime.

A crime is only reported if there is a witness or a camera. Still according to those reports. Combined with the previous point, that shifts the question: choosing a weapon becomes a decision about what witnesses will see, not only about what it does.

Target shooting is a side activity, in the form of a timed course, per the same presentation. It is the only official mention of a weapon being used outside a mission.

That is what exists. No model name, no category, no count.

Why recognising a weapon in a trailer proves nothing

This is the point the lists never make, and it holds three objections.

Identification is interpretation. Writing ".357 revolver" from a silhouette in a two-second shot means naming a calibre nobody read on screen. A video game weapon is a model inspired by real firearms, often renamed within the fiction: the series has always used in-house names.

A trailer shot is not a confirmation of content. A weapon visible in a promotional edit can be cut, rebalanced, renamed or restricted to a scripted mission. The trailer establishes that it existed in one version of the game, not that it will be playable at launch.

"Expected because previous entries had it" is not information. This page contained exactly that: grenades listed under a "confirmed models" heading, on the grounds that every GTA has had them. That is an inference dressed as a fact, and it is the precise mechanism this wiki exists not to reproduce.

What this page used to assert, and why it is gone

It listed a .357 revolver, a semi-automatic pistol, an assault rifle, a shotgun and a rocket launcher under "confirmed models", sorted by category like a spec sheet. It also attached explosives to heist missions involving Raul Bautista, when Rockstar Games has linked that character to no mission at all.

None of those lines came from a studio publication. They came from freeze frames and series habits, presented with the confidence of an inventory. We remove them rather than qualify them, because a half-reliable weapon list is less useful than no list.

Robberies, the one documented context of use

The press presentation describes heists playable solo or as a pair, from convenience stores and gas stations up to banks. It also specifies that some businesses refuse the robbery and fight back, which implies weapons on the non-player side.

Non-player characters are also described as more aggressive than in previous entries. That is the only public indication of how weaponry is distributed in the world, and it remains qualitative.

The rest of the economics of robbery is covered on our page about money in GTA 6, and the police mechanics on the gameplay page.

What to check on 19 November 2026

  • Which weapons are actually available, their fictional names, and which are purchasable rather than scripted.
  • How much the weapon weighs in your description: does a discreet weapon genuinely lower the wanted level.
  • Whether weapon customisation exists, and whether it changes police identification.
  • The role of target shooting: a timed activity, or progression that improves accuracy.
  • What the businesses that fight back actually do, and with what.

This page will be completed at that point, with what has been observed in the game.

The short version

Rockstar Games has published no arsenal. What is established comes down to three points from a press demonstration: the weapon enters your description, a crime with no witness goes unreported, and target shooting exists as an activity. Any list of models, including the one that used to be here, is a reading of images.

That sells less well than a table of calibres, and it is the accurate answer.
