In GTA 6 the phone is no longer an interface that appears over the screen: it is an object Jason and Lucia take out and look at. And the two protagonists do not share a phone, each has their own apps and follows different accounts.

The details below come from the gameplay presentation held at Rockstar Games' headquarters on 27-28 August 2026. They are not Rockstar Games press releases.

RideMe: calling a driver

RideMe is Leonida's ride-hailing app, in the spirit of Uber or Lyft. You call a driver, then choose: ride along, or skip straight to the destination.

It is the first time a GTA has offered on-demand transport of this kind. Combined with the bus stops, it gives the game a genuine travel network, see our guide to fast travel in GTA 6.

Waink: the car app

Waink is the tool at the centre of vehicle theft. For a given car it shows:

  • which tool is needed to break in;
  • its resale value;
  • the cost of registering it.

That last point changes everything. In GTA 6, stealing a car does not make it yours: a stolen vehicle has to be registered, for a fee, before it becomes a personal vehicle. Waink therefore lets you decide, before picking a single lock, whether a car is worth stealing, selling or keeping.

Fitness, banking, messaging

  • The fitness app tells you when to train. It ties into the physical condition system: the characters' bodies change with diet and activity.
  • The banking app matches the bank account, which is separate from the cash in the wallet.
  • Messaging is part of how Jason and Lucia's relationship is maintained, through texts and shared activities.

Social media leads to real places

This is the most unusual mechanic. The videos and posts on the phone's social apps are not decoration: they lead to real locations and real characters on the map. Someone posting content online can then be found out in the world.

The phone becomes an exploration tool: scrolling a feed is how you build a list of places worth visiting.

What is not confirmed

Rockstar Games has not published the full list of apps, their internal names, or exactly how each one works. What is above is what was shown at the presentation. This page will grow as Rockstar says more.
